Local girl Charlie Budge is embarking on her first season of competitive action with Exeter Chiefs. The England U20 international was previously with Bristol Bears but this season has seen her make the step into competitive Premier 15s action. Having started her rugby journey at Redruth, she followed the well trodden South-West women’s player pathway of moving to Newquay Queen Bees at junior level. After captaining the Exeter College AASE side, she was part of the victorious Exeter University BUCS Gold side that won at Twickenham in 2018, as well as being nominated for ‘Fresher of the Year’ at Exeter University’s prestigious Athletic Union Awards in 2019.
